The Arts

Involvement in the various areas of the Arts enables youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through arts and crafts, performing arts, and creative writing.

Arts and Crafts - Arts and crafts can be a very effective development tool for children. When done in class or with friends, they can become a great way to socialize while still giving kids some privacy. They are also great sources of personal satisfaction, as kids will feel proud of themselves when they are able to finish a project. Some of the basic benefits are development in the area's of Creativity, Dexterity, Concentration and Perseverance. Arts and Crafts are available in all 7 of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arkansas units.

Performing Arts - There are significant social benefits to getting involved in music, dance and drama. The most obvious benefit is that these performing arts are now woven into the fabric of our society - an important form of entertainment that encourages people to come together and enjoy, discuss or participate in the arts.

Dance -Creative Dance is available to all of our Club members through the James H. Penick Unit.

Choir - Choir is available year round to our members through our Rose City Unit.
